1.Road vehicles shall drive on the left side of the road. 2.On a roadway where road traffic is permitted, the progress of an oncoming vehicle shall be from the right of the oncoming vehicle after signaling when it has the opportunity to proceed safely in view of the traffic in the adjacent lane and oncoming vehicles. 3.Pay special attention to other vehicles and pedestrians while driving 4.Vehicles allowed and driving on a speed above, 30 (thirty) km/h should keep a distance of 15 (fifteen) meters 40 (Forty) km/h should keep a distance of 20 (Twenty) meters 50 (Fifty) km/h should keep a distance of 25 (Twenty-Five) meters 60 (Sixty) km/h should keep a distance of 30 (Thirty) meters 5.While driving a road vehicle, it is prohibited for the driver and anyone in the vehicle to smoke. 6.It is prohibited to drive more than 2 people in a 2 wheeled vehicle. 7.Smoking includes pipes, cigarettes, shisha, vaping, electronic cigarettes and other devices designed for smoking. 8.It is prohibited for a road vehicle to advance as it crosses a four-lane or goes around a roundabout. 9.Before reversing a moving vehicle, look at pedestrians and vehicles following it. 10.If the type of rear-end vehicle does not provide a good view of the rear, the vehicle must be driven in reverse with the assistance of a second person. It is dangerous to turn back from a narrow road to a highway. 11.Drive with high beam only if you have to look away due to darkness, rain or road conditions. In Certain conditions using high beam is allowed. 12.A road vehicle shall sound its horn only if it is necessary to sound it to warn pedestrians and other vehicles to avoid a potential danger. The bell shall be the same as that fitted to the vehicle when it was manufactured. 13.Four signals shall be illuminated to indicate that the vehicle is cuffed 14.The headlights or headlights of the vehicle shall be sufficiently bright to provide a clear view of the front while driving 15.When the brakes are applied, the rear red light shall illuminate brightly so that those following the vehicle can see the brake light and know that the vehicle has stopped or slowing down 16.If the environment is noticeably dark during the day, drive with your lights on. 17.When the vehicle is moving within the road traffic system, it shall signal if it is curving or turning or stopping 18.A vehicle signal is a means of communication used to inform pedestrians and other motorists that they are making a move 19.When driving within the road traffic system, a signal shall be given 15 seconds before the move/turn of a road or alley 20.It is prohibited for the driver of a road vehicle to use or carry a mobile phone or any handheld communication device. 21.Using headsets or talking on a mobile phone with the assistance of another person is prohibited. 22.It is prohibited to drive while watching TV or using any other means to watch videos or other such material. 23.If you see an ambulance, fire engine or police vehicle approaching with a siren or beacon, you must stop on one side of the road and then direct the vehicle to move. 24.If there are people crossing a zebra cross, it is prohibited to drive away the road without allowing them to cross. 25.Two-wheelers shall wear helmets on roads where speed limits of more than 30 km/h are allowed. 26.Maximum Speed limit of road vehicles in areas other than areas designated for driving under certain standards Two-wheeled motor vehicle (A1 & A0) maximum 30 (Thirty) km/hr Cars, Vans, Buggies and Buses (B1, B2, B3, B4 & B0) 30 (Thirty) km/hr Pickups, Lorries, and Island Pickups (C1, C2, C3, C4 & C0) 20 (Twenty) km/hr Vehicle can be driven with cuffs for 15 (fifteen) km/hr 27.The license plate of the road vehicle shall be in accordance with the specimen prescribed by the Ministry. 28.The traffic light turns green to indicate that you should continue driving. 29.If you exit a road, alley or square, allow vehicles traveling on the main road. 30.The mirror attached to the vehicle shall be placed so that the rear vehicle is visible 31.A vehicle shall signal when changing from one lane to another 32.If the dotted line is drawn on the road, you can overtake it if necessary 33\. A large vehicle shall be driven behind at a distance that is visible to the mirror of the vehicle in front 34.If you are driving behind a large freight vehicle, keep enough space. 35.Driving of road vehicles on public roads without registration is prohibited. 36\. It is prohibited to alter the silencer of a road vehicle. Dangerously or recklessly driving a road vehicle by modifying the vehicle so that the silencers are loud and create fear in the hearts of the public. 37\. A person who drives a road vehicle dangerously or recklessly in such a way as to cause harm to the body or life of a person shall be liable to a fine of MVR 2000/- (two thousand) for the first time. 38\. If a road vehicle carries more persons than the prescribed number of persons, the driver of the vehicle shall be fined Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred). 39.A1 category includes motorcycles with less than 50 (fifty) CC. 40\. Bicycles and motorcycles shall carry goods in the box attached to the vehicle or under the seat of the vehicle 41.The box fitted to the vehicle designed to carry garbage shall not be higher than the driver\'s cabin. 42.Police have the right to take towed vehicles from roadside to any place they wish. 43\. Two types of licenses shall be issued for driving or operating motor vehicles. They are temporary licenses and permanent licenses. 44\. The penalty for driving a road vehicle without a temporary license while the license is withheld for any reason shall be a fine of Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred) for the first time 45.The rule for the vehicle not surrendered by the owner is to sell it at a public auction or destroy it. 46.The owner of the vehicle shall be fined Rs. 250/- (Two Hundred and Fifty) for each time a parking violation sticker is affixed to a vehicle 47.It is prohibited to change lanes other than those designated for road traffic on roads where there is a prohibited lane change sign. 48.It is prohibited to cross the line drawn on the road without any cut to mark the traffic lane. 49.No stop, stop or park at the roadside where two lines are drawn close together. 50\. If you are making a right turn from a one-way street to a one-way street, slow down, look in your rearview mirror and keep the signal and move to the center of road to turn 51\. The lane in the road is designated to define and distinguish the way to travel. 52.If the arrow is drawn on the road for straight-on travel only, drive straight-on only. 53.Drive in the lane indicated by the arrow to make a right turn only. Do not travel straight through this lane. 54.It is prohibited to stop to the right on a two-way street and to park in the parking lot opposite the right side. 55.If something happens to your car on the highway and you have to stop, you should leave four signals on. 56.If you are constantly driving too much, it is a good idea to stop at a regular stop and rest if you feel any fatigue. 57\. When opening the door of a vehicle with a door, always open it to the side of the road where the vehicle is driving & open so as not to injure a pedestrian
