Question number one will be compulsory containing short answer type questions from all units having 2 marks each (5x2=10). Further, examiner will set two questions from each unit and the candidates will be required to attempt one question from each Unit. All questions will carry equal marks. Course Learning Outcomes (CLO): CLO 1: It would helps to understand the various types of society. CLO 2: Students would enable to understand the trend of social change in society. CLO 3: Students would enable to understand the modernization and westernization of society. CLO 4: Students would gain knowledge about social mobility. Unit 1: Introduction to Rural Society: Importance of the study of rural society; Indian Village: Its history; Characteristics, types of village settlements, Rural Family, rural-urban difference and continuum. Unit 2: Rural Social Structure: Caste and Class in Rural Society; Inter-Caste Relations; Jajmani System and Changing pattern, Agrarian Class Structure.
