You should take your time practicing all the skills provided in the content taking notes, writing a list of the new vocabulary and complete any task you are asked to fulfill before coming to the tutorial. Keeping in mind that it will be graded weekly. Participation 10% Be attentive, engaged, and responsive in the classroom. Devote your total attention to classroom activities and don’t forget to prepare your copy of the course-sheet assigned by the trainer in order to answer the tasks and handouts together. Participate in trainer /student dialog, discussion, group work and if you have any question or inquiry ask your trainer about it but don’t disturb your friends. Refrain from non-class related topics or activities during class such as private conversations and text messaging. No disruptive conversations (e.g., talking, laughing) or conduct will be allowed while the trainer is lecturing or during an exam period. In case of any inappropriate behaviors you will be warned only twice, then you will be considered absent and you have to discuss a topic orally in a place of your trainer's choice. Handouts All your handouts will be collected in one course sheet along with the self-study part and it will be available in your blackboard account. You are not expected to prepare any handout in advance because it is meant to measure your ability to understand the pointes presented and discussed in your lectures. Homework 5% There will be some assignments as homework during the semester which you have to complete on the assigned weeks. Projects 5% Three English projects will be given with Tutorial 2, 6 and 7 which you should complete one in a creative way individually to get 5. Another project might be done instead, individually or in groups after discussing the college plan for the extracurricular activities to get the other 5 marks. Exams 70% There will be two quizzes, 20 marks each to evaluate all language skills learned throughout the semester. The first will cover the contents of tutorials 1,2,3 and 4 and. Then, another quiz will be given covering tutorials 5, 6, 7 and 8. At the end of the semester, you will be given a final exam covering all contents and skills out of 30.   Professional Expectations for students in the technical college and English classroom: Attendance and Punctuality Attendance is extremely important to your success in English. If you are absent, you risk a lower grade. You must be on time and stay for the whole period in order to be counted as present. If your absence exceeds 3 times, you risk failing the course. Three occasions of lateness count as one unexcused absence. A medical report or any officially proofed excused will not be accepted after three days of the trainee's absence. You are fully responsible for all written and oral assignments, instructions, and information presented in class, whether you are present or not. Go to the restroom before class. If you arrive to an exam after a fellow student has already completed their exam and left the exam page, you may not be permitted to take the exam. Students leaving the online during lecture, discussion, or when taking an exam may be readmitted only at the discretion of the trainer. In cases of unexpected, sudden, or extreme illness the student should seek medical attention. Inform the trainer at the start of the semester or class if you have a medical condition that may require you to leave the online class. You are also expected to stay awake during class.  Appearance You are expected to wear the professional uniform (scrubs) assigned by your college and an Id holder for your college card. Otherwise, there will be consequences for breaking these rules.  Respect for others Being a student in a technical college and getting a profession in this filed requires working with people of different ages, backgrounds, education, and demeanors. Professional success depends on finding ways to work cooperatively with others. Do not discriminate against, mock, or ridicule fellow classmates because of physical handicaps, accents, race, regions or family background. People are different, respect, enjoy, and learn from diversity. Be courteous, respectful, and professional to your fellow students and the trainer at all times. Do not disturb others during lectures. Disruptive behavior is rude and disrespectful to your classmates and the trainer. When one talks, others should listen.  Consequences Consequences for inappropriate behavior or appearance may vary depending on the nature of the incident. Failure to adhere to any of the above items may result in the student being dismissed from class by the trainer or may considered absent and lose points for an assignment or a course grade reduction because we are aiming to produce respectful and competent professionals and reputation matters! At the end of the term: Each trainee will see her result and if she does not like it, she has the right to object officially during the first two weeks of the followed semester The instructor reserves the right to modify the course syllabus, as needed as the course progresses external events dictate. All changes made will be announced either on the email, black board and/or in class and contacting the leader of the group.
