Seifert Brand Management Brand Management 1. Executive Summary a. Procedures and Responsibilities: Outlines the process for co-branding and collaboration, emphasizing the importance of alignment with the department's values and mission. b. Overall Philosophy: The department values collaboration and partnerships for mutual success and is open to partnership opportunities that align with its values. c. Governmental & Political Collaboration: The department engages with leaders to accomplish its mission while maintaining neutrality in political affiliations. d. Spring Fire Department and ESD 7 Logos: Branding should be consistent, with Harris County Emergency Services District No. 7 branding used as approved. e. Approval: Use of the brand or identity requires approval from the Fire Chief or designee, with routine approval from the Deputy Chief of Strategic Services. f. Intellectual Property: Intellectual property developed by employees during their employment belongs to the Spring Fire Department. Seifert Brand Management 2. Purpose a. This guideline provides the established official standards for our fire department’s visual identity. It is applied to all materials, whether print or digital. It includes guidelines on the proper use of our logo, colors, fonts, and official messaging. This also includes guidelines on the manner in which Spring Fire Department will collaborate with other brands. 3. Policy Statement a. All Spring Fire Department brand and identity use must adhere to these guidelines. 4. Scope a. This guideline applies to all members. 5. Definitions a. See Glossary. 6. Procedures and Responsibilities a. Co-Branding & Collaboration i. Overall Philosophy 1. As an organization, Spring Fire Department values collaboration and partnerships to achieve shared goals and drive mutual success. 2. SFD is open to exploring partnership opportunities with organizations that align with our values and mission at the discretion of the Fire Chief or designee. 3. SFD welcomes proposals and ideas that align with our brand values and objectives. Parties interested in exploring partnership opportunities with the Spring Fire Department must contact the Fire Chief or designee. 4. Any co-branded materials must be approved by Spring Fire Department prior to use to ensure consistency and alignment with our brand guidelines, while respecting the identity of the partner brand. 5. Seifert Brand Management a. Spring Fire Department is engaged with political and community leaders to accomplish the organization’s mission and ensure public safety. b. Spring Fire Department does not endorse or prefer any political party or affiliation and collaborates with all equally in service of the community and the organization’s mission. b. Spring Fire Department and ESD 7 Logos i. It is preferred to use Spring Fire Department branding to build recognition and brand consistency. ii. Harris County Emergency Services District No. 7 branding may be used as approved by the Fire Chief or Designee. c. Approval i. For any use of the Spring Fire Department brand or identity, approval must be obtained from the Fire Chief or designee. 1. Approval should routinely be obtained from the Deputy Chief of Strategic Services or Multimedia Coordinator. 2. Examples of brand use that require approval a. Individual content creator partnerships b. Product placement c. Affiliation or endorsement d. Cross-promotions e. Brand ambassadors f. Social media collaboration g. Political or partisan collaboration h. Commercials or advertising ii. Refer to Appendix 1 for the logo, fonts, color, and other specifications for the Spring Fire Department Brand. iii. Photos, videos, or other digital media should be approved for use in compliance with other applicable SFD guidelines. d. Intellectual Property i. Any intellectual property created or developed by employees throughout the course of their employment will belong to the Spring Fire Department. The Department is entitled to have ownership of any intellectual property that employees have worked on as part of their regular duties or work assignments.
