**[PURPOSE]** Spring Fire Department conducts its business fairly, impartially, in an ethical and proper manner, and in compliance with all laws and regulations. **[SCOPE]** This policy applies to all personnel of the Spring Fire Department. **[REVIEW]** The Executive Board is responsible for reviewing this policy and ensuring its accuracy. **[PROCEDURE/POLICY]** **Ethics Policy** 1. Spring Fire Department is committed to conducting its business with integrity underlying all relationships, including those with citizens, customers, suppliers and communities, and among department personnel. The highest standards of ethical business conduct are required of Spring Fire Department personnel in performance of their responsibilities. Personnel will not engage in conduct or activity that may raise questions as to the department's honesty, impartiality or reputation or otherwise cause embarrassment to the department. Personnel will avoid any action, whether or not specifically prohibited in the policies, which might result in or reasonably be expected to create an appearance of: - Using public office or public position for private gain. - Giving preferential treatment to any person or entity. - Losing impartiality. - Adversely affecting the confidence of the public in the integrity of the department. \(2) All personnel have the responsibility to ask questions, seek guidance, report suspected violations and express concerns regarding compliance with this policy. Spring Fire Department will maintain a program to communicate to personnel its commitment to integrity and uncompromising values. The program will inform personnel of policies and procedures regarding ethical business conduct and assist them in resolving questions and in reporting suspected violations. Retaliation against personnel who use these reporting mechanisms to raise genuine concerns will not be tolerated. \(3) The HR department is responsible for providing policy guidance, issuing procedures to assist personnel in complying with Spring Fire Departments expectations of ethical business conduct and uncompromising values, and disciplining those who fail to adhere to this policy, up to and including termination. This policy constitutes the standards of ethical business conduct required of all personnel. Managers are responsible for supporting their implementation and monitoring compliance. I acknowledge that I have received, read, and understand the Ethics Policy of Spring Fire Department. I understand that failure to comply with the policy could result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_    \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\ Employee Signature Date \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ Employee Name (please print) \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_    \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\ Representative Signature Date
