Globalization – forces, Meaning, dimensions and stages in Globalization. Contemporary Issues in International Business. Module II: International Business Environment Tariff and non-tariff barriers.General Agreement on Trade and Tariffs (GATT), World Trade Organization. Important Ministerial Conferences & their outcomes. Dispute settlement mechanism under WTO. Regional Integrations, Trade Blocks – nature and levels of integration – arguments for and against regional integration. Module III: Modes of International Entry International Business – Entry modes - Franchising, Exporting, Licensing, International Agents, International Distributors, Cross Border Mergers & Acquisitions, Strategic Alliances, Joint Ventures, Overseas Manufacture and International Sales Subsidiaries, Outsourcing, FDI, FII.
