Self-Recording Script **Provider:** Point quickly at the current 'check in' row (1, 2, or 3) and then at the 'On Task' behavior, and say, "For this check in, have you been on-task?" Ask the questions listed below the behavior if the client doesn't respond, e.g., "Have you followed directions the first time? Have you only touched learning materials?" **Client:** Vocal statement of "Yes" or "No." **Provider:** Say the following or similar statement, "Okay, when were you on/off task?" "Okay, what did you do to be on/off task?" **Client:** Responds with a short statement on why/when he thinks he was on/off task (BEHAVIOR SPECIFIC). The client needs to state more than just the activity; he NEEDS to state the specific behavior that made him be/or not be. If the client can NOT state a specific example on why he was/wasn't engaging in a behavior put an 'x' over his side, the opportunity to earn points for that behavior is lost, but the provider will still state what they think and why. **Client:** THEN, the client will circle/mark off, 'Yes' or 'No' for that behavior in the column marked 'Tyler.' **Provider:** Say one of the following statements (or a slight variation): *[Agreement:]* "Yes, I agree with you because you were on/off task during (activity) when you were exhibiting (behaviors). You get (x number) of points because you were honest about being on/off task." *[Disagreement:]* "I disagree, because you were on/off task during (activity) when you were exhibiting (behaviors), so we don't get points for that." REPEAT this for the other two behaviors. Do not give him access to self-record a behavior until AFTER he has vocally reflected on his reasoning behind his decision.
