It has no historical link to the St. Augustinian original communities. The Order of St. Augustine has its direct origin in the fusion of several eremitical groups in Central Italy. Juan de San Jeronimo - only thirteen (13) arrived because Fr. Andres de San Nicolas died at sea - First convent was raised in Bagumbayan (San Juan Baustista) “An Augustinian Recollect Saint among Filipinos.” He lived and worked here for 15 years (1870 - 1885).
