**THE MANIFESTO SPEECH TO BE DELIVERED BY BAMIDURO PRAISE, AN ASPIRANT FOR THE POSITION OF SOCIAL AND WELFARE MINISTER OF OBAFEMI AWOLOWO HALL.** To: **Ever sociable residents of this Hall of residence** **The Electoral committee** **Members of the Press** My name is **BAMIDURO PRAISE OREOLUWA**, a 400 level Student of the department of Religious Studies, Faculty of Arts. I am vying for the position of Social and Welfare minister of the great Obafemi Awolowo Hall and I would be citing my plans feasible and summarized in length as myself. I believe in the sociable positive impact of lives wherever I find myself. As the saying goes "A healthy social life is a necessity for peaceful coexistence within a community". It is my ernest desire to see a working social life in this great Hall. **My mission**; Is to see a constant rise in the social live of beloved Awoites to enable us promote the high spirit of unity through various events that will take place in the hall that will enlighten a treasurable experience. I will work to promote,Organize and make events more beneficial. As Social and Welfare Minister, my goal is to further energize Awo Hall by fostering a vibrant social atmosphere, ensuring that our activities are inclusive, enjoyable, and impactful. I am dedicated to making Awo a more lively and engaging space for all residents. **Constitutional duties;** *As stated in the constitution of Obafemi Awolowo Hall;* - I will be responsible for organizing all the social activities of the Hall, Uphold and defend the constitution of the Hall. - Set up the Social and Welfare committee to help me in organizing any social activity and the committee shall be directly responsible to me. - Look after all the amenities of the Hall, Radio and Television sets, Common rooms and Chairs. - Conduct at least a weekly inspection of the Hall equipment. - Make necessary reports to the Hall Supervisor whenever any place needs attention. **My Functions**: - To organise events in advance and make sure everyone knows what is going on in order to get high turnouts and create fantastic atmospheres at events. As part of my collaborative efforts, I will be partnering with the Information and Publicity Minister of the Hostel to make sure the Hostel\'s social media handles are (brought back to) live and kicking. This will in turn make residents of the hostel aware of the social events and be given chance to make plans to attend,this way everyone is kept in the loop. *\"Alone we do so little, together we can do so much\"* -Helen Keller. If elected, I will be leveraging on my social network within the hostel(other hall executives) and across the University to collaborate with other Halls of residence to maximize resources and efforts in addressing social and welfare issues effectively. - I will serve as a strong advocate for residents rights, interests, and concerns, representing the needs of all awoites to the hall administration. - I will give room for people to work together with me by creating necessary Committees and also be open to suggestions made regarding the execution of my duties as the Social and Welfare Minister of our great hall of residence. - I will also work along with the Information and Publicity Minister to create space for anonymous night frequently where members of the hall can spill out their minds and concerns anonymously. Also if elected as the social and welfare minister of this our great hall,I will establish an open communication channels to ensure that every resident feels heard and supported. Whether you have a concern, suggestion, or simply need someone to talk to, my door will always be open. What to expect of me is an approachable, friendly executive who will always uphold your needs and ensure that Awoites are represented effectively. It is on this premise that I wish to promote the spirit of sisterhood among all AWOITES.
