It is the union of these fields that helps us to understand the world in which we live. Brainstorming.. Can you list other sciences or specializations in which the word physics appears in their names? Answers to brainstorm questions Astrophysics, mathematical physics, geophysics medical physics, physical chemistry, chemical physics, environmental physics, molecular physics, biophysics, and many, many more. Brainstorming.. How is the knowledge of physics used or applied in these sciences or specializations? Introduction ► Physics is a fundamental science influencing many scientific fields. ► Understanding the interplay between physics and other sciences is crucial for scientific advancement. ► Scientific disciplines are inter-dependent on each other and reinforce one another. Scientific disciplines do not have fixed borders Physics and Chemistry ► What are the relationships between physics and chemistry? ► What physics concept is applied in identifying atoms? Physics and Chemistry ► Both chemistry and physics study matter. They have no clear border in specializations such as physical chemistry, chemical physics, nuclear physics/chemistry, materials science, spectroscopy, atomic physics and others ► Spectroscopy is used in identifying atoms. Here are some of the advanced instruments uses in spectroscopy: ultraviolet spectrometer, Infrared spectrometer, nuclear resonance magnetic spectrometer, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive X-ray..
