RADICULOPATHY BA S ED ON MAYO C L I N I C The pain radiates from the low back down the buttock and leg. Numbness or tingling. These sensory changes may be present in leg/foot. Weakness in the leg/foot; patient notices they have trouble walking and they catch their toe on things. The symptoms associated with radiculopathy are typically unilateral (affecting one side of the body). The pain can worsen with prolonged sitting or walking, and sometimes with coughing or sneezing. The peripheral nervous system and cranial nerves: Paroxysmal neuralgia localized particularly in the area supplied by the trigeminal or the femoral nerve and the sciatic nerve COLOCYNTH - SENSATIONS Violent cramping pain. Patient cries out and protests (Belladonna, Mag-Phos) Violent drawing, twitching pains in the region of the left hip, or sharp pains in the region of right hip, suddenly appearing and disappearing when walking. Drawing pain in one or the other thigh as far as the knee. (Patient might say "it's pulling" when you ask to describe the pain.) All the limbs become drawn up. COLOCYNTH-MODALITIES Aggravations: From annoying vexation (Ign., Staph.) Amelioration: Strong pressure (Bryonia) Flexing the thigh toward pelvis, bending double (Mag-phos) Heat, pain better in the warmth of the bed, but returned after a time. COLOCYNTH- CONCOMITANTS Extreme irritability, anger and agitation during pain Suited for patients suffering from paroxysmal pain following confrontational situation that triggers violent anger or annoyance. CLINICAL INDICATION-NEURALGIA Sciatica or femoral neuralgia: Acute shooting/cramping pain that are mostly on the left side. CLINICAL INDICATION- RHEUMATOLOGY Lumbar pain, vertebral pain, joint pain with impression of weakness that the back of knees is giving way. Severe backache during pregnancy, and after miscarriage. Pain in nates and thighs and hip-joint. Lumbago with sudden sharp pains extending up and down back and to thighs. MAGNESIUM PHOSPHATE MAGNESIUM PHOS.
