Oxygen Blender A DEVICE WHICH MECHANICALLY MIXES HIGH PRESSURE (50PSI) AIR AND OXYGEN TO CREATE A DESIRED FIO 2 When Is An Oxygen Blender Used Oxygen administration to the infant population. Blender Used It is very important to precisely control the FiO2 when providing oxygen therapy to infants. Operation of Oxygen Blender Oxygen Blender Requires two compressed gas inputs, 50 psi oxygen and 50 psi medical air Oxygen and Air pass through two regulators within the blender. Each regulator ensures the input pressures of the oxygen and air are equal at 50 psi. Operation of the Oxygen Because the pressures are equal, a specific FiO2 can be created by positioning a metering Blender valve. The metering valve will create the necessary ratio of oxygen to air flow necessary for the set FiO2. Equipped with a pneumatic alarm which is activated when either compressed gas pressure falls below 50 psi.
