Monitoring and Quality Control Systems LC. 1 Dr. Noha M. Abd El-Salam Monitoring the System or Quality Monitoring System Means the framework to be developed by the specialized people in order to maintain high quality service levels as required. The Quality Monitoring System developed by the responsible persons that must be approved by Top manager Quality System, Quality Assurance, and Quality Control Relationships Quality assurance and quality control are two aspects of quality management. While some quality assurance and quality control activities are interrelated, the two are defined differently. Typically, QA activities and responsibilities cover virtually all of the quality system in one fashion or another, while QC is a subset of the QA activities. Also, elements in the quality system might not be specifically covered by QA/QC activities and responsibilities but may involve QA and QC. Figure 1 shows ISO 9000 definitions from ISO 9000:2015: Quality management systems - Fundamentals and Vocabulary. 1920s: Quality Control Following the Industrial Revolution and the rise of mass production, it became important to better define and control the quality of products. Originally, the goal of quality was to ensure that engineering requirements were met in final products. Later, as manufacturing processes became more complex, quality developed into a discipline for controlling process variation as a means of producing quality products. 1950s: Quality Assurance and Auditing The quality profession expanded to include the quality assurance and quality audit functions. The drivers of independent verification of quality were primarily industries in which public health and safety were paramount. Quality audit Is the process of systematic examination of a quality system carried out by an internal or external quality auditor or an audit team. It is an important part of organization's quality management system and is a key element in the ISO quality system standard, ISO 9001. OR Is a process by which you review and evaluate an element of your business to ensure that you're meeting certain standards. The standards vary—you can set them or you can follow standards set by your industry. Quality control Is a process through which a business seeks to ensure that product quality is maintained or improved and manufacturing errors are reduced or eliminated. Quality control requires the business to create an environment in which both management and employees strive for perfection It is a way of controlling the defects which arises in various stages of testing. It should be done after development.. It is a way of preventing defects which would arise in the software in later stages. It should be done before Development. Software Testing Is a way of running an application or executing a program with an intention of finding defects. ISO Standards The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an international standard development organization composed of representatives from the national standard s organizations of member countries.
