Click on the FOOTER button. Select EDIT FOOTER. Click on the QUICK PARTS button in the Insert tab in the Ribbon. Select FIELD. Press “F” on the keyboard to get to FILENAME Check the box to Add path to filename © 2016, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Set Path and Filename in the Footer Cont… Click OK. Select the entire path and set the font to 8 pts. (The grey shading indicates that this is a Field, not that it is selected. To format the field, be sure to drag entire line in order to select it.) © 2016, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Inserting Path and Filename © 2016, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Set Path and Filename in the Footer Cont… Press ENTER to go to the next line and add your USERNAME under the path and filename by doing the following: ◦ Click on the QUICK PARTS button again, select FIELD and choose USERNAME from the list by typing the letter “U” (Username is down three items on the list). ◦ Click OK. ◦ Your name should be the same size font as the rest of the document (size 12). © 2016, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Inserting Username © 2016, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Important! Going forward, always include: ◦ Naming Conventions:  All files and folders are to be named as X File Name Lastname – X = Section – Lastname = Student Last name ◦ Path and File Name:  All files must include a path and file name in the document footer © 2016, Southern Alberta Institute of Technology Module 4 Activities Complete the Keyboard Shortcuts Worksheet ◦ Located in Brightspace: Module 4 Overview notes ◦ Use the “Help” tab in Word.
