Cartoon is a form of visual communication that became popular w ith the invention of the modern newspaper and motion pictures in the 20th century. WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CARTOONS? Three of the most popular cartoons in the field are editorial cartoons, comic strips, and caricatures. EDITORIAL CARTOON It is a one-panel or stand-alone comic strip in which the main intent is to present an opinion about a current event. COMIC STRIP It is a series of little draw ings arranged box-by-box, some or all of which may contain dialogue. CARICATURE They are often drawn in a distorted manner which exaggerates certain things about them.
