SASI English & Humanities Department, LTP Learning Objectives At the end of the discussion, students are expected to: be able to identify and define the major recurring themes in literature; explain how themes can be used to provide insight into a particular culture or time period; and evaluate how a particular theme is used to convey a particular message in a given piece of literature. The theme of a story can be conveyed using characters, setting, dialogue, plot, or a combination of all of these elements. By examining these themes in a literary work, readers can gain a better understanding of the characters and their motivations, as well as the society in which the story takes place. It means standing up for one’s beliefs, taking risks, or confronting difficult situations head-on. Perseverance: This is about persistence and maintaining effort over time, despite difficulties, delays, or failures. It involves continuing to push forward, even when progress seems slow or obstacles seem insurmountable. This theme explores growth, self-discovery, and the challenges of transitioning into maturity.
