Interpersonal Communication – communication among a relatively small number of people Levels of Communication 3. Public Communication – involves speaking with an audience Levels of Communication 4.Mass Communication – communication via the use of mass media system Levels of Communication 5. Communication Technology – communication through the use of information technology. Levels of Communication 6. Organizational Communication – communication within a workplace between and among members in order to carry out an organization’s objectives and purposes; defining goal-directed behavior for efficiency and effectiveness. Levels of Communication 7. Intercultural Communication – communication between and among cultural communities and nations to promote understanding and goodwill. Levels of Communication 8. Development Communication – communication between progressive nations and developing societies of the world in order to facilitate the total development of individuals and nations. Tenets of Communication 1.Communication is a dynamic process, ever- changing, ever-moving, and in a state of flux. 2.Communication is complex. 3.Messages are sent, not meanings. 4.Communication is systematic. 5. Communication involves communicators not just “speakers” and “lecturers”. 6.Communication is proactive.
