Three Levels of Social Structure 1. Micro Structures: Family, friends, smaller groups 2. Macrostructure: Capitalism, class, bigger groups but not biggest 3. Global Structures: Economic relations, global scales, beyond borders, biggest group Key Theories of Sociology Functionalism: Views society as a complex system of working parts moving together to create and promote social solidarity and social stability. Con ict Theory: Relations between classes including domination, submission, and struggle. Patterns of inequality produce social stability. Macro level structures. Karl Marx.
