Corner of the mouth (commissure): the point at which the lips meet. 3. Nasolabial groove: which runs diagonally بشكل مائلdownward on each side of the nostril toward the corner of the lip. 4. labiomental groove: which runs horizontally أفقيunder the lower lip and emphasize the chin. Free gingival margin: not attached to the teeth or alveolar bone 2. Attached gingiva: attached to underlining alveolar bone. 3. Interdental papillae/gingiva: is the gingival portion area 1. Free gingival margin between two adjacent teeth. 4. Labial frenum: a band of fibroelastic tissue that connects lips/labial mucosa and the attached gingiva at the midline of the maxilla or mandible. 5. Buccal frenum: a band of fibroelastic tissue that connects buccal mucosa to the buccal alveolar ridge of the maxillary and mandibular dental arches. 6. Alveolar mucosa: is the soft, thin mucous membrane that sits above the marginal gingiva and the attached gingiva, and continues across the floor of the mouth, cheeks, and lips. Tongue The tongue is a broad flat organ composed of muscles and glands. The tongue has 2 surfaces: Lingual frenum 1. Dorsal surface of tongue من فوق. 2. Ventral surface من تحت. 3.lingual frenum. Floor of the It is shiny with thin alveolar mouth mucosa and some large blood vessels may be seen near the surface. It’s where the tongue rests! Roof of the It has two parts: mouth 1. Anterior part is named as hard palate. Components of hard palate: Rugea area. Incisive papilla Median palatine raphe 2. Posterior part is named as soft Rugea area palate which ends by a small fleshy structure named: Uvula. Thank you
