It is people's way of life that they already accepted and passed along from one generation to another through imitation and communication. Intercultural Communication Interculturalcommunication happens when individuals interact, negotiate, and create meanings while bringing in their varied cultural backgrounds (Ting- Toomey, 1999). Intercultural Communication Intercultural communication pertains to communication among people from different nationalities (Gudykunst, 2003). It is the sending and receiving of messages across languages and cultures. Cultural Identity The definition of groups or individuals (by themselves or others) in terms of cultural or subcultural categories (including ethnicity, nationality, language, religion, and gender). 1.
