After World War II, the Britishers faced a problem over the growing demand of independence by Indians. The Quit India movement and other several movements pressurized the Britishers. So, the British Prime Minister sent the Cabinet mission plan to India. ### Proposals of Cabinet Mission Plan: * The Cabinet mission proposed the grouping of states with a common centre. There are three groups: group A, group B, and group C. * The INC says that if the states who were not satisfied in their group, they can joint the other group, but the INC rejected this suggestion of INC. * The plan also proposed a Constituent Assembly. INC agreed to make a constituent assembly. * They proposed the formation of the interim government. * The cabinet mission plan paved the way of power distribution from the British rule to India. * The participation of Indian leaders in the Cabinet mission plan provided them the opportunity to participate in the shaping of the country’s future. ### The Cabinet Mission Plan was Partially Successful Only the formation of the constituent assembly was accepted, and there was much dispute over the grouping of states.
