Temperature: - Effect on Enzyme Activity: Enzymes have an optimal temperature at which they function most efficiently. Below this temperature, the rate of enzyme-catalyzed reactions is slower because molecules have less kinetic energy. Above this temperature, the rate of reactions decreases due to denaturation, where the enzyme's structure becomes disrupted and loses its activity. - Importance: The human body maintains a relatively constant internal temperature (around 98.6°F or 37°C) to ensure that enzymes function optimally.
