Assessment in Learning 1 Lesson 5 HIGH QUALITY ASSESSMENT COMPONENTS DIFFERENT ASSESSMENT METHODS Essay Type Objective Type Performance Test Oral Questioning Observation; and Self Report ESSAYS - can test the students’ grasp of the higher level cognitive skills OBJECTIVE TYPE - is a form of assessment that consists of questions with clear, unambiguous answers. PERFORMANCE TEST - is an assessment that requires individuals to demonstrate their ability to perform tasks or activities, rather than simply answering questions. ORAL QUESTIONING - assess the students’ stock knowledge and/or determine the students’ ability to communicate ideas in coherent verbal sentences. OBSERVATION - is an assessment method where the test-taker's behavior, skills, or performance is observed and evaluated in a natural or controlled environment. SELF REPORT - is an assessment method where individuals provide information about themselves, usually by answering questions or responding to statements that reflect their feelings, attitudes, behaviors, or personal characteristics.
