**DOWN THE MEMORY LANE - HERALDS OF HONOUR** A few friends within the Pax Romana admired the literary wing of other ministries on campus who ministered at their programs mainly through choreography. The leadership of Pax Romana in the late 90's started discussing the idea of doing the same within Pax Romana. This idea was welcomed. With the support and encouragement of the Pax Romana leadership (John Otibo of blessed memory, Mr. Thomas Andoh and their team at the time) some members of Pax Romana were given the opportunity to proclaim the Word through drama and choreography at an ITI -- CCR (Inter-tertiary Institutions Catholic Charismatic Renewal) Program held on KNUST Campus as well as during a PAX week celebration in the 1998/99 academic year. The impact this had on students was great as many were touched by the drama and choreography put together. On the back of the positive impact the group made on students, the leadership of the then Service-Team of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal led by Mr. Kenneth Kolembe, in collaboration with the leadership of the Pax Romana - who all happened to be members of the Service team of the CCR gave the mandate to Nada Tawiah Grant to lead and organise the literary wing of CCR and for that matter Pax- Romana. The drama ministry was formed and led by Nada Tawiah Grant as head / lead Drama Director and assisted by Michael Quainoo, the assistant Drama Director of the group. There were also other committed leaders within the group who were put in charge of prayer, choreography, Cassette/CD player, organisation, among others. The group was called Heralds of Honour. The Heralds ministered the Word in drama and choreography as their core mandate as a way of spreading the gospel to change and draw lives to Christ. Nada led the group from 1999 to 2002 as part of the CCR service team. However, due to the uniqueness of Pax Romana, it was agreed that the leader subsequently wouldn't have to be necessarily a member of the CCR; as long as the leader was a committed member of the Pax Romana and had the passion and desire to lead the group in executing its mandate - spreading the Word through drama and choreography. The first few meetings of the Heralds of Honour were held at the wings or foyer of the Great Hall. The group then moved their meetings occasionally to the Africa Hall and then to the Klaver Hall at the Catholic Chaplaincy. When the RP Baffour complex was completed, the Ministry met on the ground floor of the complex then moved to the 2nd floor and then room 7 as it is called now. The JVC Ghetto blaster used for choreography rehearsals was bought in 2002. MINISTRY HEADS There have been eight (8) guys who have been Heads of the Ministry since inception: 1. Philip Kumako 2. Cephas Kanyirimaala Dakpaanaa **WHY HERALDS OF HONOUR** Our name Heralds of Honour was given by Michael Quainoo who was the first Drama Director assisting Nada at the time. It was realised that almost all drama groups had unique names and that inspired our unique name, HERALDS OF HONOUR. Heralds means bearer of good news (Gospel) and Honour is respect, dignity or integrity. Therefore, Heralds of Honour means **"bearers of the good news with respect or dignity or integrity"**. The motto of Heralds of Honour is "**The spark that ignites the world for Christ".** Our first greeting was Heralds with the response, Honour! In 2009 the Ministry decided to add a second response: **"we ignite the world for Christ".** This was to help remember the motto. In 2013 under the leadership of Edwin Donkor, a third response was introduced: "continue to love". This was introduced because the Ministry was noted for a strong bond of love among members and wanted to remind members every time to continue in that love. Heralds of Honour was 20 years in May 2019 and will be 23 years this year 2022
