Security aspects include the following: Encryption Identity Management and Access Control Threat Detection and Response 2- Privacy Privacy means maintaining the confidentiality of personal information and preventing unauthorized access to it. Privacy includes: Personal Data Protection Transparency Compliance 3- Data transfer rate (Throughput) Data transfer rate expresses the system's ability to process a number of operations or requests within a specific unit of time. Data transfer rate includes: Capacity Scalability Efficiency 4- AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting): AAA is a concept that includes three main aspects of security in distributed systems: Authentication: The process of verifying the identity of users or devices trying to access the system. This includes using passwords, fingerprint, or two-factor authentication. Authorization: Determining the powers granted to users after verifying their identity. This means determining what they can do within the system. Accounting: Tracking and recording all activities performed by users within the system. This allows usage to be monitored, suspicious activity detected, and performance analyzed to determine how effectively the system is being used. 5- Capacity: The amount of work the distributed system can handle while also providing a desired level performance. Also, the amount of data the system can process and the amount of users. 6- Scalability: The distributed system ability to adapt the increased services load and new updates and how well the system responds to adding and removing resources and features. 7- Monitoring: Keeping the system on check by monitoring all it’s components is an important metric to provide a good performance. it is important to monitor: Software Hardware databases 8- Error detecting and error correction: Identifying issues by studying the number of errors that occur in a specific amount of time. And solving problems right away Error correction is the process of fixing the system and making it the same way it was before the error occurred Error detecting and error correction make the distributed system reliable. 9- Storage: storages are very important to avoid losing any data. A distributed system should have 2 storages Primary storage: for operational data Secondary storage: for less frequently used data. 10-Servers: Servers are the backbone of any distributed system so good servers means good system. Servers are responsible for running the applications. 11-Performance: a system overall performance is a combination of all the other metrics For example, fast response time, monitoring, scalability, error detecting etc... Can provide good system performance.
