Quantitative 1 Objective Measurement It relies on measurable data to formulate facts and uncover Problems in research. This objectivity allows for replicability and accuracy. 2 Statistical Analysis Quantitative research enables the use of statistical tools to test hypotheses and examine relationships between variables. Profile" Satisfied)" Quantitive Methods A/B Testing A/B testing is a quantitative user research method that detects how different UI designs may change your product's performance. Designers create two versions of the same interface and show them to different groups of users to see which version performs best.Commonly, only a single variable is different, for example, a CTA or a navigational bar. What makes A/B testing effective? A/B testing is cost-effective, simple to implement, and perfect for resolving any differences of opinion among team members. Choose a variable(s) to test. It can be a CTA, hero image, or other UI elements that can drive significant improvements. Split your audience equally and randomly. Avoid splitting page traffic between different groups by gender or age — you won't get the insights you're looking for. Surveys A survey is a cheap, flexible user research tool for gathering information about participants' preferences, attitudes, characteristics, and opinions on a given topic. Surveys consist of a set of questions and can be inserted on a live website, within an email body, or after user interviews or usability testing. What makes a survey effective? Define the goal. It's important to decide what you want to know and why a survey is the best way to obtain that information. Write questions in plain language. If users don't understand a question, they're likely to skip it or give answers that don't reflect their experience truthfully. Be short. Long forms are tedious and likely to be abandoned before users even start. Include open-ended questions. Open-ended questions provide more insight into users' thoughts. It consists of 10 questions with 5 response options varying from Strongly Agree to Strongly Disagree. It can be used to evaluate any product or service, including hardware, software, mobile devices, websites, and applications. Tree Testing Tree testing is a method for evaluating your product's information architecture and findability of content in a product. Participants are presented with a text-only version of the site's hierarchy and asked to complete a series of tasks. The goal is to determine whether users can find what they need based on the site's structure when it is stripped of all other UI elements.
