## TASK 3: H300 CONVEYOR START UP ### **STEPS** | **KEY POINTS** | **REMARKS** ------- | -------- | -------- **1. START CONVEYOR H300** | **1.1 Inspect H300 conveyor rollers and pulleys for product build up.** | **1.1.1 When pulley has product build-up clean using broom/scraper and shovel.** | **1.2 Check that H 300 is free of obstructions and no personnel are near.** | **1.1.2 When rollers are not turning report to team manager to avoid belt to go out of alignment.** | **1.3 Check that the pull trip switches are on.** | | **1.4 Start H 303 in the Bulk Store.** | | **1.5 If the product is to be bagged directly at Bagging 1 from the prilling plant then start H 306 conveyor.** | **1.5.1 H303 is interlocked with H 300 if H303 is not running H 300 will not be able to start.** | **1.6 Select the correct position for the diverter flap on the discharge chute of H300 depending whether the product must be sent to the Bulk Store or Bagging 1.** | **1.6.1 Product can be bagged directly from any of the prilling plants. Good product or out of specification product for the fertilizer market.** | | **1.6.2 Operator to ensure that #3 & #4 product must not be mixed when running different types of product. e.g. ANA and ANE.** | **1.7 Start H300 locally at the head end of the conveyor.** | **1.7.1 Check that the belt tracks properly (inspection for alignment).** | **1.8 Select that the flaps in the discharge chutes of ME0311 A and ME410 are directed to H300 to load NORMAL BULK DENSITY product onto H300.** | **1.8.1 Operator to ensure that #3 & #4 product must not be mixed when running different types of product. e.g. ANA and ANE. Product on the conveyor to be only NORMAL BULK DENSITY PRODUCT ONLY** | **1.9 As H303 and H300 are interlocked H300 can trip from one of the following:** - H303 stops for whatever reason. - H300 motor trips on overload. - H300 belt alignment switches are activated. - H300 trip switches are activated. - H300 tail pulley speed switch is activated due to belt breaking or slipping. - H303 belt snaps | **1.9.1 If H300 stops for any reason, the product will overflow from the feed chute/inspection door onto the ground below. Urgent operator intervention is then required to divert the product to the bagging 2 hoppers and change to hopper A-E after clearing the blocked chute. Inform Team manager.** | **2.1 Check the position of the machine.** | **2.1.1 He machine must be positioned between the two stoppers in a bay.** | **2.2 Check the sensors if are ON.** | | **2.3 Place selector button on "manual" and press on start button.** | | **2.4 Move lanvermeyer excavator to product heap to be moved.** | | **2.5 Press right or left button.** | | **2.6 Place the lanvermeyer excavator boom by pressing "up" button. Press "down" button to lower boom onto product heap.** | | **2.7 Stop the lavermeyer machine and Set the carriage distance by placing the lanvermeyer excavator magnets on either side of the sensors on the demarcation line on the rail.** | **2.7.1 Bay to be reclaimed from one side to prevent the lanvermeyer from derailing.** | **2.8 Level the bay to be reclaimed with the machine on automation.** | | **2.9 Check if the machine is not bumping against bay demarcation walls.** | **2.9.1 If bumping the walls adjust the sensors by moving the sensors inwards** | **2.10 Switch Lanvermeyer excavator to "automatic" and press the "start" button and observe the reclaiming process before leaving the cab.** | **2.10.1 To ensure smooth reclaiming to prevent derailing.** ## TASK 4: LANVERMEYER MACHINE START-UP ### **STEPS** | **KEY POINTS** | **REMARKS** ------- | -------- | -------- **1. START LANVERMEYER EXCAVATOR** | **1.1 Move Lanvermeyer excavator to product heap to be moved.** | **1.1.1 Lanvermeyer excavator must start from new bay when existing bay is empty. Always empty the bay first before moving to the new bay. This is to prevent product from forming a crust, which will damage the lanvermeyer. The lumps will also choke the conveyor and elevator systems and there will be customer complaints.** | | **1.1.2 When moving from one bay to the next bay, the lanvermeyer has to be on its highest point. This is to ensure that the boom is above the product when moving to the next bay.** | **1.2 Place button on "manual" and press start button.** | **1.2.1 Manual button allows Lanvermeyer excavator to be operated under controlled conditions.** | | **1.2.2 When the lanvermeyer is on manual control, the operator has to be present at all times to operate the lanvermeyer.** | **1.3 Press right or left button.** | **1.3.1 To move Lanvermeyer excavator to right or left, or from left to right. "Note" When the lanvermeyer is traveling to the left or to the right you need to press the stop button first in order to get the lanvermeyer to stand still before you change the direction of traveling.** | **1.4 Press "stop" button.** | **1.4.1 Press stop button to stop Lanvermeyer excavator.** | **1.5 Place the Lanvermeyer excavator boom by pressing "up" button. Press "down" button to lower boom onto product heap.** | **1.5.1 Lanvermeyer excavator must start working from top of the heap. This is to prevent damage to the boom should it be lower than the set height and also to prevent overloading the H304A conveyor, which will cause spillages.** | **1.6 Determine the carriage distance by placing the Lanvermeyer excavator magnets on either side of the sensors on the demarcation line on the rail.** | **1.6.1 By placing the magnets on the Lanvermeyer excavator rail, the magnet will determine where Lanvermeyer excavator will stop. A magnet on either side determines the distance the Lanvermeyer excavator will travel from right to left.** | **1.7 Level the bay to be scraped and Move the lanvermeyer excavator to the extreme right of bay to be scraped.** | **1.7.1 To ensure that the lanvermeyer has a level surface to scrape from and that it will not get stuck due to uneven product which can damage or derail the lanvermayer.** | | **1.7.2 If the lanvemeyer derailed, the fitter and electrician have to be called out to place lanvermeyer on the rail and to line up the motors.** | **1.8 Switch Lanvermeyer excavator to "automatic" and press the "start" button.** | **1.8.1 "Note" When on automatic, the Lanvermeyer excavator will always move from right to left.** | | **1.8.2 If the lanvermeyer reaches the limit switch on the left side, it will automatically change direction.** | | **1.8.3 The reason for this is to scrape the product onto the conveyor belt evenly.** | **2.1 Reset trip switches in Motor Control Centre and at the bulk store entrance.** | **2.1.1 To restore power to the lanvermeyer. If the power cannot be restored, call out the electrician to reset the trip switch inside the lanvermeyer.**
