To provide them with a solid understanding of the process of interpersonal communication. Course By the end of this course, students will be able to: Outcomes Show moderate ability to listen to and understand real and recorded conversations and audios in English. Prepare and compose variety of texts in English for different purposes. Prepare and develop a conversation with others. Assess and argue the process of interpersonal communication along with the barriers therein and overcoming them. UNIT CONTENTS HOURS Unit I: Active listening and comprehension and asking 08 Listening probing questions, Barriers to listening. and Speaking Introducing self and others, Building a conversation Skills Describing events, people, and places etc Seeking and giving permission Unit II: Classify, contrast and explain different types of texts, 07 Reading Skimming, Scanning, and taking notes. Skills and Evaluate Interpersonal Communication: its types, Interpersonal purposes, and process. Communicatio Identify Barriers to Effective Communication and n how to overcome them. Decide non-verbal communication: Body language, Paralanguage, signs and images and their role in communication. *Ability Enhancement Course (AEC) is being an interactive mode through demonstration method, the BoS of Science Languages recommended 2xNo.of Batches of the laboratory for the learning hours. The above prescribed syllabi course should be conducted in an interactive mode through demonstration, using appropriate tools for the batches of the laboratory. References: 1.
