Identify and describe the main regions, including lobes, of the brain. 2. Identify and describe the limbic system. In their answers, students should define the following terms: Cerebrum, cerebellum, diencephalon, brainstem, medulla oblongata, pituitary gland, pons, frontal lobe, parietal lobe, occipital lobe, temporal lobe, limbic system, postcentral gyrus/somatosensory cortex, precentral gyrus/primary motor cortex, amygdala, hippocampus, and cingulate gyrus. Introduction 10 minutes: Use Visible Body Suite, as well as the set of articles referenced in the additional resources section above, to give students a brief introduction to the key structures and functions of the brain, including the limbic system. Student Activities 30 minutes: Have your students complete the three activity worksheets in this lesson. Check their work using the answer key.
