Summary
Microscopic images and descriptions of different types of leukocytes (white blood cells): lymphocytes, basophils, and neutrophils. The images show these cells in a blood film, highlighting their characteristics, including the shape and staining properties of their nucleus and cytoplasm.

- **Lymphocyte** A microscopic image of a single lymphocyte among many red blood cells. The lymphocyte is a type of white blood cell that is the smallest of the white blood cells. It has a large, round nucleus that takes up most of the cell. - **Basophil** A microscopic image of a single basophil among many red blood cells. The basophil is a type of white blood cell that has a large, multi-lobed nucleus. The cytoplasm is filled with granules that stain blue. - **Neutrophil** A microscopic image of a single neutrophil among many red blood cells. The neutrophil is a type of white blood cell that has a multi-lobed nucleus, but unlike the basophil, the nucleus does not take up most of the cell. The cytoplasm has faint pink granules which are not visible at this magnification.
