Sabbath Afternoon | 08.10.2024 Bishop Kani The Making of a Leader: Destroy and Build “Exponential growth is a term that came about to explain how we were moving in IUIC.” Exponential or exponentially means there is no fixed value. The value can be whatever the momentum takes it. Exponential growth means there is no limit to what we can do. It cannot be defined by a fixed number. It's important for you to grow spiritually in understanding, so you can be more effective in conveying the message. We're not raising followers, we're raising leaders. All of you are called to live to your full potential. When we believe in something, you can see what believing in something is. Matthew 17:20 We can move and shake this world if we believe. Can all of you be effective leaders? We can change the conditions that were in if we tap into the power of God. We can turn this world upside down with the Bible. The question is – are you effective enough? 2 Sirach 10:2 In many cases, the men that come behind you are a direct reflection of the man that you are. Surround yourself with men of understanding so you're able to grow like that. We're trying to build a nation of godly kings and priests, a kingdom of leaders. Leadership ability=Spiritual aptitude. The more a leader understands, the more he applies, conveys the message and the more people come in. 3 A good leader will understand the tools that he has, and he will set them in the right place. A good leader develops leaders. He doesn't need to micromanage. You cannot be a dumb or unlearned leader. Many of us have made sacrifices to do this work. A leader understands this. Sometimes those sacrifices are your family. Sirach 33:17 We labor not for ourselves, but for all those that seek learning. Philippians 2:3-4 As leaders, we have to look to the concerns of others and put our wants to the side of other people's necessities. 2 Corinthians 11:22-27 4 All this was done to share the gospel to the people. Take into consideration the time it took Paul to do all of the work. He dedicated his whole life to share the gospel. We have to make this the focal point of our life to receive the Kingdom. You have to deny yourself, sacrifice yourself for the betterment of our people so in that day we can stand before the Lord and say we risked our lives for this. They can never stop this movement. Another young man comes up on fire who mimics the leaders that he sees, that's what they're afraid of. We're unstoppable. You think your life holds more precedence. It supersedes the betterment of the body. Had this been the case, Christ wouldn't have given his life for this. A lot of other camps are short-sighted. They do not have effective leaders, and their body has not grown. We grow because we're not short-sighted. You're not entitled to anything, you're as good as your last work. If you cannot be used, you're useless. 5 You're not meant to be a leader if you're arrogant and entitled. The more you grow in understanding the more humble you become. Do not be prideful. The scriptures are supposed to humble you to make you understand that this was a gift from God. Show the people that you're a servant to them to help lead them along the way. People see the power, seriousness, focus and objectives in us so they follow us. We understand that respect is gained. Leaders are able to take correction. 1 Timothy 4:12 You'll know if someone knows the scriptures based on their conversation, just listen to what they're saying. Learn to be patient with brothers. Do not expect from others something you're incapable of doing or refuse to do. 6 1 Timothy 5:17 Why are the elders worthy of double honor? Because they rule well, witness their work. They gain respect because of their work. They're laboring in the truth. You can never follow a double-minded or fearful leader. We're in this fight together. We do not leave each other behind. 7 Do we have the skill set to be able, by the word of God, to mold a person's mind, to change the way they think, to tear away the layers of lies they believed for years using the word of God? If you know how to communicate effectively and have the right precepts, you can change a person's mind. Sometimes you may have to correct a brother harshly because he's moving evil, but do you have the right skill set to build him back up so he isn't overcome with sorrow? It's easy to chastise someone, but can you spend the same or even more time to win him back over and recover his soul? Proverbs 11:30 A man that can win a soul over, who has enough power and influence is a wise man. Acts 11:21-24 8 When the hand of God is on you, many people will come and follow you. They will see the hand of God on you and hear it in your speech. They'll see it in how you deal with others. What we're doing now is to help groom you into those leaders. Imagine if Christ was indifferent towards us and not compassionate. As a leader, there's a time to be compassionate and a time to be stern. The word of God teaches you how to find the balance. When you live a life that's contradictory to what you preach, people will see that eventually in your speech. It weakens your credibility and people lose faith. Do not be a hypocrite. Live up to the expectation of being a leader. You can be a soldier with the mentality of a deacon. 9 Who do you spend your time around? It will help determine how far you will go. Be mindful of the company you keep. Proverbs 13:20 Be sure the company you keep is with wise men. Proverbs 14:7 Do not choose to hang around foolish men unless you are trying to build him up. 10 You cannot be effective if you surround yourself with people who don't have integrity. Be honest with yourself on who you are, and live up to that. Around leadership, stay in the scriptures. Learn how to explain Galatians 3. Get yourself around men of understanding. Nurture the men behind you, teach them and build them up. 11 One of the integral parts of momentum is having men in place that are competent. Then, you can pull away from here and start something over there. 12 These are some of the earlier days of IUIC. Look at us now. Leadership was able to inspire people to buy into the system of repentance. We went from sitting on a couch in a living room on Passover 2003 to where we are now. This is effective leadership. We're just getting started, this is just the first fruits. 13 Romans 12:11 As a leader, you cannot be slothful in business. You have to be a leader, thinker and a self-starter. You must have foresight like our forefathers did. You have to see situations and know how to grow, build momentum and solve problems. Don't wait for people to tell you what to do, be the first starter. A lot of people do not understand the mechanics of how this thing moves, it's because of the small details that they don't see. We need people that are fervent, reliable and honest. People that care for the body. Be fervent, not complacent. Get it done. Let's build. A leader understands that complacency is of the devil. 14 People will lose their way if you don't have vision. All of the prophets have foresight. They can see impending danger and problems before they occur. Bishop Nathaniel has been prophesying about the future for a while now. Proverbs 29:18 Not having vision is not having foresight to foresee what needs to be done. Having vision is the reason why IUIC is where it is now. One vision we have is the building fund. We foresee where it's at and we need our own building and land. We're putting things in place. We see what's coming and we want to stay ahead of the curve. Donate and help us. 15 It doesn't matter where you stand in this body, you can be sat down. This is not a friendship club. We're about the Lord's business. Being held accountable for your actions is primary in fostering people into good leaders so they see that there's no partiality and that there shouldn't be any partiality. Romans 14:12 Every one of us will give an account of ourselves in that day. 2 Esdras 16:53 This is when you don't want to take accountability. You want to be right and make excuses. It's very easy to do this because there's not too many people that can check you. This is called hypocrisy. If we begin to move like this, it will fall apart. Men and women will stop believing. 16 Be honest and take accountability. People will respect you more if they see you are honest with yourself about your shortcomings. Don't be worried about man's judgment, be worried about God's judgment. It's very easy for leaders to blame-shift and tell a subordinate that he's the problem. If you're the man in charge, it's your fault. Why did the situation happen? Why is it like this? Learn to take accountability as a leader. 17 We have to ensure that regardless of what happened to upper leadership, this machine does not break down. It will keep moving. It shouldn't matter what rank you're at just as long as you're a part of the body. Pray the Lord never takes away your wisdom. How to keep this legacy moving is imperative to building a nation. The people under you have to understand this and keep it moving. If we're moved out of the way, do not let this fall apart. You will be held accountable for that. See this to the end. Men, groom yourselves to be great leaders. Mold yourself to that. Teach the men under you to be that. Raise more and more leaders. “I charge all of you men to be the best version of yourself that you can be." 1 Chronicles 28:19-21 18 Be of good courage and don't fear when they come against us. Part of the succession is understanding that you must finish the course that you started. God is with you. People follow power and wisdom. Make sure you are moving this way. You will gain willful and skillful men. A wise master builder knows how to choose and use his tools. A skillful leader knows how to mold the minds of men to give themselves wholly over to God and be the most effective person to lead the body. Acts 20:28 God has made us overseers, it is our job to feed the flock. They are hungry for the word. It is our job to oversee them. Isaiah 35:4-5 The eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf will be opened because of fearless leaders. This is what you men are doing now, compelling the people to come in. Men, see yourselves as leaders. We have all been called by God and we all have a purpose. I want to be able to stand boldly before the throne and say I want my crown. We should all have that mentality. Continue the charge and do not give up or give in. In time, you will be put to the test. 19 These conferences are to develop men into leaders. Good leaders have the foresight to know that men need to be developed. We're not worried about being replaced, we need you to be better than us. We want to compel you to be better than us. Many of you have more understanding in your 4-5 years in this truth compared to how long it took us to get to that same level of understanding. No, this doesn't make you wiser than us. Your job is to replace us. The chaos is there's no structure in order. Follow the plan of succession. This is how we march 2,000+ men in order. We understand discipline, legacy and structure because we keep the laws of God. When Christ left and went back to the Father, he left a machine in place. 20 “All of you men should go over these principles and negative attributes. Make sure you're applying this to your lives and growing. I see leaders in all of you.” 21
