Constitutional mandate – The AFP recognizes the constitution of the republic of the Phil as the legitimate expression of the people’s will. Section 2. Organization and chain of command – The AFP is duly created by law as an integral part of the executive branch of the government. Section 3. All members of the AFP shall morally bound by the Divine Laws, oath of office, AFP custom and tradition, the AFP Code of Ethics from various protocol of the Geneva Convention, the Philippine Constitution, Congressional Acts, the Executive AFP Code of Conduct, AFP Regulation, AFP Directive, Circulars, Memoranda, and the Military Custom and Tradition. The AFP are obliged to obey laws, legal orders only to their respective superior through Chain of Command. Honor. Patriotism. Duty. I AM A FILIPINO SOLDIER - I will uphold the supremacy of the civilian authority over the military in war and in peace. The supremacy is that of civil authority over the military not for any civilian citizens. Thus civil authority refers to the president who as the commander-in-Chief of Staff of the AFP, exercises direct control and authority over the military through his representative. The Secretary of the National Defense (SND). Other branches of the government also appear in aid legislation (Congress) …Judicial Writs or (Judiciary) , deputation during election (COMELEC), and so on. Any civilian and any person intending to join the military service must understand that the soldier’s dedication to the military life is incomparable to a civilian’s job, for a soldier make himself available for duty at all times. Solidarity. Solidarity within the organization is the Army’s benchmark for action, growth, and resilience as it protect the country and nurtures its development. PROFESSIONALISM – the expert application of specialized skills based on an organized body of knowledge and in accordance with laws and/or code of ethics with the highest degree of excellence in the accomplishment of the mission. STANDARD OF MILITARY PROFESSIONALISM – Every member of the AFP shall observe the following as guidelines in the discharge of their official duties. 1. STANDARD OF LOYALTY – All military personnel shall be loyal and true to the republic of the Philippines, the constitution, the AFP and to the people at all times. 2.
