In this specific instance the use of sick time will not negatively affect overtime and the use of Vacation/Holiday time may be taken in other than 24 hour increments. 4.3 Individuals must notify the on duty District 1 Battalion Chief of their desire to not return to shift that day and their request to utilize scheduled but not taken vacation/holiday time or sick time for the reminder of the current shift. 4.4 The on duty District 1 Battalion Chief will note the specified vacation/holiday on the master off-time calendar as a partial day and follow the procedures established for rescheduling this time. 4.5 Individuals may not take unpaid leave for this purpose unless all other leave time has been utilized.
