Summary
This document provides a detailed description of muscle tissue, categorizing it into skeletal, smooth, and cardiac types. It also explains the structure and function of nervous tissue, including neurons and neuroglial cells. The three germ layers of development are also covered.

# **Part Two** ## Muscle Tissue - Responsible for movement - Moves blood, food and waste through the body's organ - Responsible for mechanical digestion * Muscle cells also called muscle fibers * Muscle fibers are contractile * Muscle fibers is three (3) types: - Skeletal muscle (الذراعين والأرجل) - Smooth muscle (الجهاز الهضمي) - Cardiac muscle (القلب) ### Skeletal Muscle - Attached to bone - Striated - Voluntary ### Smooth Muscle - Skin - Involuntary - Non-Striated - Walls of organs ### Cardiac Muscle - Heart wall - Involuntary - Striated - Intercalated discs ### Skeletal Muscle - Long and cylindrical - Transverse striation - Have multi-nuclear - No branched ### Smooth Muscle Cells - Long and spindle shape - Internal organs, iris of the eye - Have one nucleus/ have single nucleus - No branched ### Cardiac Muscle Cells - Branched - Contain intercalated discs (عليهم سؤلين) ## **Nervous Tissue** - Conduction in pulses to and from body organs via neurons. - Cells have a very high ability to - Respond to stimuli - Transmit nerve impulses * Nervous tissue consist of unit called neurons * Nerve neuron cell has 3 parts: - Cell body - Axon - Dendrite * Neuroglial cells support and bind nervous tissue * Found in brain, spinal cord and peripheral nerves * Cell body -> Dendrites / Axon -> Axon terminals (Argo raziation ش متأكد من الكلمة) ### Unipolar - Unipolar cells have one process that includes both the axon and dendrite ### Bipolar - Cells have two process: the axon and a dendrite ### Multipolar - Cells have more than two process: the axon and two or more dendrites (شن متأكد من الكلمة) ## Germ Layers - Three layers: - Ectoderm (skin cells - neurons) - Mesoderm (cardiac muscle - skeletal - smooth) - Endoderm (lung cells) ## **The End**
