Complete the Analysis and the Conclusion of the Lab report below: CP Chemistry Lab Report: Calcula;on of the Specific Heat Capacity of a Metal Purpose: From lab data, the student is to calculate the specific heat capacity of a metal and the % error. Theory: Using temperature increase of water in a double cup calorimeter and temperature decrease of the metal, the specific heat capacity of the metal can be calculated. Qcup = Qmetal Q = Cx mx ∆T Chemicals: Metal sample and Tap Water Equipment: Elec Balance, weighing paper, 400 ml beaker, hot plate, beaker tongs, tongs, elec thermometer, hot plate and double cup calorimeter. Safety: Goggles and Aprons are Mandatory. Cau;on: Very Hot. Procedure: 1) Student is to determine the mass of the double cup calorimeter empty. Data #1. 2) Student is to add approx.. 100 ml of tap water to the double cup calorimeter and record the mass. Data#2. 3) Student is to turn the hot plate to high and place the 400 ml beaker filled to 300 ml with tap water on the hot plate. 4] Student is to place weighing paper on the elc balance and zero it out -then place the metal sample and record the mass and name of the metal sample: Data#3 5) When the water in the beaker is boiling, carefully using tongs to place the metal sample into the beaker. 6) Using the elec thermometer, record the temperature of the water in the double cup calorimeter. Data#4. 7) A`er 10 minutes record the temperature of the boiling water. Data#5 8) Using tongs, quickly remove the metal sample from the beaker and place in the double cup calorimeter, swirl with the elec thermometer in the double cup calorimeter. Record the highest temperature of the water in the double cup calorimeter. Data#6 9, Clean up. Careful around the hot plate and beaker. Towel Dry all supplies. Data: 1) Mass of Double Cup Calorimeter (Empty}: 8.856 g 2) Mass of Double Cup Calorimeter+ HOH: 100.153 g 3} Mass of Metal Sample: 57.857 g Name of Metal Sample: Zinc 4] Ini;al Temp of HOH in Calorimeter: 22.4 °c 5) Temp of Boiling Water (Metal): 98.0 °c 6] Final Temp of HOH + Metal in Calorimeter: 27.7 °c Analysis: ? Conclusion: ?
