Dengue is transmitted by a day biting mosquito Aedesegypti which is common in tropics and urben setting. NS1 antigen is express as early as the first day. The above performed test is rapid chromatography screening test and negative result doesnot preclude the posibility of Dengue infection. Positive result should be confirm by ELISA test. Note : This is a screening test. Positive test should be confirmed by ELISA method test. Most of the time the dengue infection in children & adults remain silent. Dengue infection canpresent as Dengue fever, Dengue hemorrhagic fever or more severe form as Dengue shock syndrome[DSS]. Classical DSS may present as high fever, thrombocytopenia, elevated hematocrit and hypotension. IgM Antibodies against Dengue virus can be detected early after the onset of symptoms. IgG antibodies are dected from the 5 the days of illness, reach tom peak level at 2-3 months folloowing initial infection. IgM antibodies are often not detectable after the second infection with another serotype. IgG antibodies usually persist throughout life. After a second infection with another serotype IgG antibodies rise of over 10 fold concentration is usually found. End of Report Dr.P.D.Kadam MBBS,DPB Reg No.2017/07/3116
