3rd-5th Grade Acceptable Use Round Rock ISD Instructional Technology What is Acceptable Use? This is what you can and cannot do while using your school’s internet and devices. It includes: Equipment Use Internet Use Google Accounts Safety and Security Device Lending Agreement You may be responsible for loss or damages. Do not share your device with other students or borrow a device from other students. Device usage must be monitored by teacher (at school) and parent (at home) at all times Device Lending Agreement The device lending agreement covers 3 main areas: Warranty Damage Intentional Damage Lost or Stolen 1st Occurrence of Damage This includes keyboard damage 1st Occurrence of Loss $0.00 and damage to the chromebook Charger- $15 screen. Chromebook- $200 2nd Occurrence of Damage Charger- $15 Keyboard Damage: $25 2nd Occurrence of Loss (and Chromebook- $50 beyond) Screen Damage: $50 Charger- $35 3rd Occurrence of Damage Chromebook- $405 Charger- $35 These fees do not count towards Chromebook- $200 warranty damage. Take Care of Your Device Keep it in a safe and If something is broken, clean place let your teacher know Keep food and drinks Only use your device to away from your device do school work Do not peel district Do not add stickers to stickers off of your device your device Be Prepared Each Day Charge your device each night (if you have charging ports on both sides, choose the right hand side) Bring your headphones, charger, & mouse (if applicable) DIGITAL FOOTPRINT ⬡ Definition: ∙ The information about someone that exists on the internet based on their online activity ⬡ Things you post on the internet are there forever, even when things are deleted! ⬡ Includes: ∙ Videos, pictures, comments, posts, files, websites you visit, search history, etc. Approved Sites and Research ★ Teacher Websites ★ Student Resources/Links page ★ Library Services “Research Resources” page ★ Apps in ClassLink *Notify your teacher if you accidentally access a site that concerns you.* Google Apps for Education ONLY use your Activity on Google account for chromebooks and school purposes Google Accounts is monitored Report any inappropriate or suspicious emails Internet Use Get teacher Only use the permission before internet for school creating any new purposes accounts. Get teacher Report approval before inappropriate visiting new websites or ads websites to your teacher What does Round Rock ISD monitor? EVERYTHING done using EVERYTHING on your All Emails your school Gmail account, Chromebook, (Sent & Received) at home & school at home & school All Items in Drive, Revision History & Google Search History including things Shared Comments in Drive files With You Cyber Security NEVER give out your private information online!
