Grade 3 Term 3 Booklet No: 5 0 Al-Aqsa Private International School Science Grade 3 Unit 3 Lesson 1 & 2: Worksheet # 5 Term 3 Name: Date: Grade: Day: Summary of the Lesson: Living things, like bee and plant, are known as organisms. All organisms change as they get older. However, different organisms change in different ways. The largest seed is the coco de mer, or sea coconut. Birds have different stages of their life cycles, or changes that happen to an organism during its lifetime. Not all life cycles look the same. The adult mayfly only lives for one day, but a red urchin can live for over 200 years! Organisms go through different changes as they get older. All life cycles follow patterns that happen in a certain order. 1. Birth 2. Growth 3. Reproduction 4. Death Reproduction means reproducing new animals or plants like themselves. A population is made up of all the members of a certain kind of organism in an environment. When organisms reproduce, the young are called offspring. Traits are features that are passed down from parents to their offspring. Flowering plants come in many varieties, but they all follow a similar life cycle. Germination of a seed is the first stage, when a root begins to sprout from the seed. 1 Al-Aqsa Private International School Q1. Choose the correct answer: 1. How do animals reproduce? a. You may be able to match parent animals with their offspring by looking at their traits. Traits are features that are passed down from parents to their offspring.
