Periosteal layer Bone 2. Meningeal layer Dura mater These two layers are normally closely adherent to one another but in certain regions become separated to enclose blood-filled space, the dural venous sinuses In some regions: Tightly adherent to the inner surface of the skull (e.g. cranial cavity floor and midline of the cranial roof) Separated from the skull by a narrow extradural space (e.g. frontoparietal area) Source: "Servier -
