Ans: Shiva’s father Nagendra bought flowers that his wife strung into garlands. Then Shiva and his elder sister Yogeshwari sold the garlands at traffic signals and other places after their school. Apart from this, Shiva also sold newspapers. Ans: Electronic waste consists of dangerous chemicals that contaminate the soil and water. This leads to severe health hazards such as kidney diseases, brain damage, genetic mutations and even cancer. This creates the necessity of proper disposal of e- waste so that we can avoid these health risks and make our mother earth a better place to live. 02 2. Attempt any THREE of the following : (12) (a) How do you justify that Gurmeet Singh is a good Samaritan ? Ans: The word ‘Samaritan’ means a charitable or helpful person. A samaritan always does something good for the welfare of others selflessly. Considering these qualities, we can see Gurmeet Singh as a good Samaritan. He is messiah for the abandoned patients. Gurmeet Singh, once visited the Government hospital ward with poor lady and her scalded son, was moved by the fact that there was no one to treat him. At that moment, he decided to do something for the abandoned patients of the ward. He provides them with food and medicines. He also pays for expensive tests, scan and even chemotherapy for cancer patients. Gurmeet Singh’s entry in the ward always brings a smile on the weary faces of the patients. He plays different roles for them. He enquires about their health as if he is their doctor. Being careful for them, he plays the role of the nurse. And most importantly, he plays the role of a kin for them by affectionately taking their care. Thus he is a good Samaritan. 04 (b) How did Anish suffer after the accident ? Ans: After the accident, Ashish had a severe brain injury. After the surgery, the doctor said that in a scale of 1-15, where a normal person would be rated 15, Anish could be rated only 3. Tubes were inserted into his body to aid breathing, feeding and urination. It makes the manager a good motivator. As a manager, a person becomes active listener and understands the problems of employees. He/She treats them with respect and values their opinions. Thus he/she facilitates respect. The manager delegates work and monitors the work progress. He/She leads the employees to reach the goal of the organization. Manager motivates and guides them. This stage also helps the entrepreneur to become an effective leader. 04 (d) Mention the qualities of Arunima stated in the text. Ans: The qualities of Arunima stated in the text are as follows: 1. Arunima is a hard working person. After completing a basic course from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, she underwent rigorous training for 18 months to prepare herself for climbing Mount Everest. 01 2. She is ambitious. Her dream was to conquer the highest mountain from each of the seven continents of the world and till now, she has conquered six of them. 01 3. Her next quality is perseverance. She climbed various smaller peaks, including Island Peak to prepare herself before conquering the Mount Everest. 01 4. She was also a kind hearted and generous person. Therefore she has established Shahid Chandrashekhar Azad Viklang Khel Academy for underprivileged handicapped children. 01 5. She is fearless. When she entered the death zone- 3500 feet from the top of Mount Everest- the most difficult terrain started. She saw dead bodies of mountaineers scattered all around. These jars are incorporated with multifunctional blades that can perform all sorts of chores in a few seconds. The liquidizing jar is of the largest capacity featuring stylish handle and a lid. The smallest jar helps you to grind all sorts of chutneys and spices. The third jar is dry/wet jar.
