Sample( Reaction Paper) Media Are Not Comedia By Dr. Bobby R. Henerale A nation without information surely makes this world an island of ignorance. The right of the people to information on matters of public concern shall be recognized. This implies that in this age of voluminous information, people will be left behind and thus have a difficulty of coping with fast pace of life, should they be unreached by the media of communication. The day typically starts with one turning on the radio broadcast or hearing information from the local radio commentators. As people do in work or at home, radio, and television can keep them in tune and in touch with the rest of the world. Truly, media with its unusualness among production-oriented organizations, in that some degree of power and influence, have become an indispensable part of people. The information processing theory is helpful to the public in receiving messages from media. The theory points out that the receiver comprehends the persuasive message by studying the arguments or information from the communicators( Tankard, 2000). Thus, the theory explains that the receiver becomes a good decision-maker on the messages that he/she either adopts or rejects. The theory implies that giving half-baked information is not adequate, just so information can be given. The source is morally obligated to track the lives of the listeners, provide a viable service, and avoid trampling others on the rush. One of the media, which is central to communication activities, is the radio. It is powerful high-speed information system that brings about changes in societies, sub-cultures, families, and individuals not only in the Philippines but also throughout the world. In order to affirm this role of radio in societal transformation, a good radio broadcast program, therefore has to be planned, organized, administered, and evaluated. This is very basic to communication management. However, the radio broadcast industry in Philippines and some of the countries have become a societal concern. In fact, it is a responsibility of any society that has affected the lives of so many people through communication. It has, then, to keep developing to attain the human development intended for. The responsibility needs hard work and a lot of patience for sustainability. Nonetheless, any immodest behavior of some radio broadcasters, specifically the radio commentators can be deterrent to quality service. Ill exercise of the responsibility far reaches the development for which commentaries are intended. The growth and development of the radio broadcast industry largely depends on the effective human resources working in the broadcast organization down to the radio broadcasters who need to be aware of how societal expectations be realized through some mirroring or evaluation of the delivery of the service. This is going through a second or more look into the process-the transporting of the message, the result of which needs feed backing to improve the said process. This is also means critically looking at the message itself. Guide Questions: 1. How did you find the structure of the title? 2. What is the significance of the thesis statement? 3.
