As all assessment items in this subject have been designated as mandatory, or compulsory, they all must be completed and submitted by the specified due date and time to receive a passing grade. If unable to submit an assessment by the due date  Refer to page 20 of the Learning Guide for required documents and links  Extension of Due Date  Disruption to Studies  Activity 1: In group discussion answer the following questions What is needed to pass this subject? –Achieve at least 50% when all assessment marks are totalled AND –Complete and submit all assessment tasks at the required time and required academic standard AND –Attend 80% of classes. Please see the learning guide to confirm.  Is attendance at tutorials compulsory? Please see 3.2 Attendance requirement to confirm: First Year Subjects with 80% Compulsory Attendance Requirements: –80% attendance at all classes is required throughout the semester, i.e., students studying first year subjects must attend 8 of the 10 classes to achieve satisfactory attendance. Note: 7 out of 9 weeks of in-class tutorials in NURS1025 –Students who experience a significant and unavoidable event and are unable to attend 80% of classes (i.e., miss 3 classes) must submit either; a Request for Extension, or Missed Compulsory Activity application with supporting documentation, or a Disruption to Studies application (if effected for more than 3 days) with supporting documentation. Please contact the Subject Coordinator as soon as possible if an unavoidable emergency has occurred and you are not able to submit a Disruption to Studies application within five working days of the disruption commencing. –Students who have an approved Request for Extension, or Missed Compulsory Activity or Disruption to Studies for a missed class will be required to submit the work to your tutor as instructed by the Subject Coordinator. Refer to the following: “The essentially person-centred nature of nursing and midwifery is evident from the fact that the central focus of the definition of each discipline is on the patient as the recipient of care….this care includes the physical, mental and emotional, social, and spiritual dimensions of the person” (Hall, Glew & Rhodes, 2022, p. 5).
