Ifan interstate driver is involved in a crash, the driver should: 1. ‘Take all reasonable precautions to prevent further accidents at the scene 2. Render all possible assistance to the injured when safe to do so (according to company policy) 3. Notify the police and call the company (or have someone do it for the driver if a telephone is not readily available) 4. Fill out a preliminary crash report and get the names of all witnesses 5. Be polite and give their name and company name (and show their CDL) to the police or anyone involved in the crash, as requested 6. WHERE - Whenever possible, the driver should indicate the route number or street name, or names of intersecting routes or streets; address of a nearby building; and direction and approximate distance from a nearby point.
