Q. Do the Hazardous Materials Regulations require motor carriers and drivers to have information available in case of an emergency involving HM? A. Yes. The HM Regulations require the availability of emergency response information on vehicles transporting HM and at every facility at which the HM are received, stored or handled during transportation. Note: these requirements do not apply to HM that are exempt from the shipping paper requirements (ORM-D, limited quantities). [See 49 CFR § 172.600]. Q.
