Because of high convolution, the tube is cut in many segments of various sizes and shapes.*Golgi bodies appear as dark brown granules in the apical parts of the lining cells (towards the lumen).  structure : mitochondria Site : liver Stain : iron hematoxylin The liver cells are polygonal, arranged in the form of cords radiating from the central vein.* The mitochondria appear as dark blue granular, rod-shaped or filamentous-structures filling the cytoplasm.
