Role of various apex Institutes in Human Resource Development New Syllabus Old Syllabus ,NIESBUD Technical Intern Training Program (TITP) It was initiated in Japan back in 1993 with the aim of supporting developing countries by hosting their citizens and imparting skills through On-the-Job Training (OJT). This program serves as a platform for international cooperation, facilitating the transfer of skills, techniques, and knowledge gained by technical interns to their home countries. Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has signed Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with Japan's Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare on October 17, 2017. This MoC aims to substantially enhance bilateral cooperation between India and Japan in the field of skill development. Under this collaborative program, individuals from India are selected to undergo internships lasting three to five years in Japan. Upon completion of their internships, they are required to return to India and apply the skills they have acquired during their time in Japan. To oversee the implementation of this program, the MSDE appointed the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in January 2018 to serve as the monitoring body. Rozgar Mela It is an event where a number of employers and job seekers come together for the purpose of applying and interviewing for jobs. It is an employment strategy to fast-track the meeting of job seekers and employers. Rozgar Melas range in size from 5 – 100 employers with many hundreds of job seekers. NSDC conduct these Rozgar Melas at national level. Skill Management Accreditation of Training Centres (SMART) Now modified as Skill India Portal (SIP) In Skill India Portal, any entity can create a training centre and apply for its affiliation and accreditation after registering itself as a ‘Training Provider’. The final decision on the accreditation and affiliation rests with the aligned Sector Skill Council that is based on pre-defined norms. Onboarding of training centres on portal is done by NSDC. Rajyaseva Mains 2021 Ans.4 Udaan The Udaan Scheme, a Special Industry Initiative (SII) for the state of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K), is funded by the Ministry of Home Affairs and implemented by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Based on the recommendations of the Rangarajan Committee, the scheme has been a major initiative of the central government towards making the educated youth graduates, post-graduates and three-year diploma holders in engineering of J&K employable. Scheme was launched in FY 2011-12. The aim of the Udaan scheme is capacity building of the youth in J&K through skill development and subsequently exposing them to the best of corporate in India. National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) It is a premier organization of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, engaged in training, consultancy, research and publication in order to promote entrepreneurship and Skill Development. The head office of the Institute is situated in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The institute has a Regional Centre located at Dehradun which operates from NSTI Dehradun premises. National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) Objectives: To standardize and systemize the processes of selection, training, support and sustenance of potential and existing entrepreneurs. To support and motivate institutions/organizations in carrying out training and other entrepreneurship development related activities. To serve as an apex national level resource institute for acelarating as well as enhancing the process of entrepreneurship development, to measure the impact of the same within different strata of the society. To provide vital information and support to trainers, promoters and entrepreneurs by organizing research and documentation activities relevant to entrepreneurship and skill development. To create a holistic environment to train the trainers, promoters and consultants in diverse areas of entrepreneurship and skill Development. To offer consultancy nationally/internationally for promotion of entrepreneurship and small business development at national and international level. To provide national/international forums for interaction and exchange of ideas for policy formulation and its refinement at various levels. To share experience and expertise in entrepreneurship development across national frontiers to create awareness on it at national level. To interchange international experience and expertise in the field of entrepreneurship development for mapping its development at international levels too. Major activities: The training programmes being organized by the Institute include Trainers Training Programmes (TTPs); Management Development Programmes (MDPs); Orientation Programmes for Head of Departments (HoDs) and Senior Executives; Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs); Entrepreneurship-cum-Skill Development Programmes (ESDPs) and specially designed training activities for different target groups. Besides the primary/basic research, the Institute has been undertaking review/evaluation of different government schemes/programmes, training need assessment, Skill Gap studies, industrial potential survey etc. The Institute has been designing, developing and standardizing Course Curriculum for Entrepreneurship and Skill Training Programmes. The Institute is running 5 Training-cum-Incubation Centres in the name of Livelihood Business Incubations at its premises in the areas of Fashion Designing , Beauty & Wellness, Mobile Repair, Food Processing, and Electrical and Home Appliances.  The institute offers consultancy services in the area of entrepreneurship especially for MSMEs. Indian School Certificate Examinations (ISCE) It is an examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations was established on 3rd November 1958. [Headquarter: New Delhi] The nomenclature of the examination changed from Overseas Certificate Examination to Indian School Certificate Examinations (ISCE) in November 1963. The first Indian Certificate of Secondary Examination (ICSE Class X) was held in November/ December 1970. Mr. Frank Anthony (1958-1993) as the Founder Chairman pioneered the formation of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations conducts three examinations, namely, the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE –Class X); The Indian School Certificate (ISC – ClassXII), and the Certificate of Vocational Education (CVE – Year 12). ICSE Examination: - The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ICSE) has been framed and designed as an Examination in general education through the medium of English. - The ICSE Examination ensures a general education without any diversification of studies as all candidates are required to enter for six subjects, English (Compulsory) and be assessed by the school in Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service (Compulsory). ISC Examination: - It has been framed and designed as an Examination through the medium of English, after a two-year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (Class X) or its equivalent. - All candidates eligible to appear will be required to enter for English (Compulsory) with three, four or five elective subjects and be assessed by the school in Socially Useful Productive Work and Community Service (Compulsory). Certificate of Vocational Education Examination: - It has been created as an examination, in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) through the Joint Council of Vocational Education (JCVE) established under the National Policy of Education 1986. - This examination can be taken by candidates after a two-year course of studies beyond the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (Year 10) examination or its equivalent, through the medium of English. Derozio Award: - It is an annual prize awarded to the top Indian educationists by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations. - It was instituted in 1999 in memory of Henry Louis Vivian Derozio, a poet and educator from West Bengal. - It is the highest award conferred by the council for contributions in the field of education.
