Scope: The scope is applicable of all type of cooling tower in the Fresh Division. Responsibility: Utility Operator – Responsible Operation of Cooling tower as per the SOP. Engineering Manager – Accountability Abbreviations: PPE – Personal Protective Equipment PM – Preventive Maintenance TDS – Total Dissolved Solids TH – Total Hardness 1.0 Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) related Hazards, Consequences, & Precautions: Hazards Consequences Precautions 1. Without electrical isolation, Electrical shock Ensure Equipment power supply is isolated carrying out maintenance work. before starting the job. 2. Water level must be maintained above the mechanical float level. 2.5 Add chemical to cooling tower water on a daily and weekly basis, as specified by the supplier, for cooling tower water treatment purposes. 2.6 Water from the cooling tower is blown down to maintain the appropriate water quality.
