Mechanism of diffused axonal injury is microscopic. There may be minimal findings on CT and MRI. DAI most commonly affects the following areas of the brain: – Parasagittal white matter of the cortex – Corpus callosum – Brainstem Pontine-mesencephalic junction adjacent to the superior cerebellar peduncles.
