Contemporary Art is art made today by living artists. it reflects the complex issues that shape our diverse, global, and rapidly changing world. Through their work, many contemporary artists explore personal or cultural identity, offer critiques of social and institutional structures, or even attempt to redefine art itself. Contemporary art is a movement that belongs to the present. Its artforms speak to our experiences of today. This definition, however, leaves open the boundaries of what exactly makes a work of art contemporary as a sign of something new, innovative or distinct from previous artforms or art-making practices. It is characterized by its global nature, the diversity of its mediums, and its engagement with social, political, and cultural issues. Contemporary art transcends traditional boundaries and disciplines of art-making, incorporating not only painting and sculpture but also new media such as installation, digital art, performance art, video art, and conceptual art. Art or “Sining” is defined as the different manners of expressing human skills and imagination in the creation of aesthetic conditions, objects and presentations. Art is not confined only to what is seen. Art involves the use of all the physical senses in order to appreciate it. Philippines has diverse art forms from its different regions. These diverse art forms, when integrated, give a clear picture of how abundant the culture and tradition of the Philippines is. It continues to evolve up to the present and progress to contemporary art tradition. As a Filipino, we should have the knowledge about the different art forms in the Philippines to fully understand the culture and tradition
