Definition, Goals and Scope of Special and Inclusive Education PRESENTATION OF GROUP 1 Inclusive Education in the Philippines Special Education - refers to the preparation of teaching procedures and materials, and other interventions designed to address the needs of a child with learning differences, disabilities, and giftedness. Inclusive Education -means including students with additional needs in a mainstream school environment. VMGO - Vision The State, community and family hold a common vision for the Filipino child with special needs. By the 21st century, it is envisioned that he/she could be adequately provided with basic education. VMGO - Vision This education should fully realize his/her own potentials for development and productivity as well as being capable of self expression of his/her rights in society. He/she is God-loving and proud of being a Filipino. VMGO - Mission To protect and promote the right of every Filipino to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete basic education where: Students learn in a child-friendly, gender- sensitive, safe, and motivating environment. Teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner. provide children with special needs VMGO - Goal appropriate educational services within the mainstream of basic education. includes the development of key strategies on legislation, human resource development, family involvement and active participation of government and non-government organizations.
